I know there's been a bit of silence since my last post here on Newgrounds (not too long imo but still). Right now I'm currently on a hiatus from my IP and am working on some things; some fanart and animations for a game I like. And a pretty dumb song which I may or may not decide to post later (don't be surprised If I don't).

Howdy everyone! Tam again here. Today I want to show you the marvel of Pokémon Evolution! Remember the little, red, furry marshmallow we met before, Irkifi? Well, at level 29 it's gotten a bit bigger now...

Today's Pokémon: The Normal/Fire Type Irkifir!

Pokédex No. 002: Irkifir

Type: Normal/Fire

Species: The Heat Pokémon

Ability: Rattled/Strong Jaw

Hidden Ability: Flame Body

Pokédex Entry No. 1:

As its blood pressure rises, so does its body temperature, which can heat up to 100 Degrees.

Pokédex Entry No. 2:

When instigated, a determined Irkifir can bite through even some of the toughest Rock and Steel-type Pokémon.

Base Stats:

Attack: 110

Defense: 95

Sp. Attack: 20

Sp. Def: 75

Speed: 65

Total: 445

Irkifir is the first and final evolution of Irkifi. I chose to stick with the tradition of giving normal type Pokémon lower stat totals, but I never liked how bad most of them were, so I wanted to try to make It have something more to offer. With good physical bulk and strong offenses, paired with Strong Jaw, this Pokémon can hit especially hard with its STAB biting moves like Hyper Fang and Fire Fang. However, it has lackluster speed and less-reliable special defense, making it especially frail against special attackers. A lot of water type moves are also special-based, so watch out for that Hydro Pump!

Gumshoos, one of my favorite Pokémon, was a big inspiration for Irkifir's moveset and stats, as it is also a s Strong Jaw user. Unfortunately, Gumshoos' lackluster stats and lack of additional STAB make it a somewhat weak Strong Jaw Pokémon. I also just really like Strong Jaw as an ability, so I wanted to add more diversity to the group since not a lot of Pokémon have it. I think Irkifir is one of the better Strong Jaw Pokémon because of its decent stats and a superior STAB combination in Normal/Fire; which allows it to have better type matchups than Gumshoos.

Howdy everyone! It's Tam here. I've recently begun playing Pokémon Moon, and I've been having a blast! To commemorate this I've started to make some imaginary Pokémon just for fun; I start by choosing one random type to work from, which I spin from a wheel; this time I got Fire, which is one of my favorite types! I have no idea how far this whole thing will reach, but for now, let's just have fun with it! Looks like I found another thing to do on Sundays!

Today's Pokémon: The Normal/Fire Type Irkifi!

Pokédex No. 001: Irkifi

Type: Normal/Fire

Species: The Heat Pokémon

Ability: Anticipation/Strong Jaw

Hidden Ability: Flame Body

Pokédex Entry No. 1:

Packs of Irkifi are known to cause heat waves during certain times of the year.

Pokédex Entry No. 2:

When it is irritated, its body can get hot enough to cause severe burns.

Base Stats:

HP: 50

Attack: 70

Defense: 55

Sp. Attack: 20

Sp. Def: 40

Speed: 45

Total: 280

When making this Pokémon, I had an idea for a line of angry beast-like Pokémon which are powered by their own rage (oddly specific). Originally intended to be a Fire/Psychic type, I found myself unable to make it look anything other than beastly, so I went with Normal/Fire instead. Irkifi is the first Pokémon in this Two-Pokémon evolution line, as it only evolves once. You can think of it as a furry, red marshmallow with legs; if you were to ask me what kind of animal it's based on, I wouldn't know! But it looks like some kind of Rabbit or Faun to me. The Rabbit part may or may not become more apparent as it evolves...

The two at the top right were the closest to what I had in my head, but I kind of realized that the design was too detailed, so I had to simplify it quite a lot. The one at the bottom left is a closer version, and the two on the bottom-right were designs for potential alternate evolutions (which I ended up leaving out). At the end of the day, I went for a smaller, more boxy shape, keeping the big ears but diminishing the arms and body; and that leaves us with Irkifi!

I will post more detailed information on this little guy's stats later on, for those of you fanatics out there.
